Agentic AI for XR
Packard 101
Talk Abstract: As extended reality (XR) technologies rapidly mature, the integration of intelligent agents is set to redefine how users interact with virtual, augmented, and mixed environments. This talk explores the emerging paradigm of Agentic AI for XR, where AI systems exhibit goal-directed behavior, adapt in real time, and proactively collaborate with users in immersive spaces. We will examine how agentic AI—powered by advances in large language models, reinforcement learning, and multimodal understanding—can enable XR experiences that are not only reactive but truly interactive, contextual, and personalized.
Speaker Biography: Andrea Colaco is a Director of the XR Human & AI Interface team at Google XR which specializes in AI-driven interactions to design an agentic framework for head worn devices. Most recently, Andrea’s team featured several agentic capabilities at the recent Google I/O keynote. Andrea received a Ph.D. degree from MIT Media Lab in 2014. Her research interests span applying learning approaches to various camera-based and camera-less systems, enabling AI-agent orchestrated interfaces and investigating new ways for proactive and personalized computation.
