Internships / Curricular Practical Training

Internships and CPT Approval Process

All internships and CPT during academic quarters (autumn, winter, spring) must be approved by the student's advisor, the department and the School of Engineering if students are enrolled. EE-BS, EE-MS and EE-PhD students must follow the approval process found on the link below. Approvals must be confirmed before participation in any internship or CPT. For Summer 25-26, internships and CPT only need advisor and department approval (SoE approval is not needed).

Curricular Practical Training

EE 290 (A, B, C & D) offers course credit for EE graduate students currently on an F-1 visa who would like to complete relevant work experience as part of their program of study. This is done in a manner consistent with the USCIS regulations and the Bechtel International Center. Such work must be relevant to the curricular program pursued by the student.
